French chateaux (castles)
Bordeaux chateaux
Bordeaux wine region disposes of fifty-seven appellations for about 120 000 hectares of vines, such a big family cannot be found anywhere in the world.
Home of more than 200 chateaux of wine, Bordeaux is the biggest vineyard of controlled appelations in France where a multitude and complete variety are united on the same
territory:
red wines, dry wines, medium-sweet or sweet wines, rosés, clairets, Crémant de Bordeaux (which replaced the ancient sparkling wines in 1990) and Fine Bordeaux (a brandy produced from white wines).
Besides wine tasting and direct sale od wine, some of these chateaux(castles) also provide accommodation in the heart of vineyards. This combination offers the very traditional french-type holiday.
