Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion (Classified Growth)
Situated at the southern slopes of Saint-Emilion the property of Chateau Canon la Gaffeliere descends towards the Dordogne Rive.
The roots of this wine chateau lead back to Roman times. The name comes from the medieval word for "lepers" (gaffets) and really there used
to be a leprosarium in the 14th century.

Red grape: - 55% Merlot
- 40% Cabernet Franc
- 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Average vineyard age: around 40 years
Vineyard surface area: 19,5 hectares
Average annual production: 5000 to 7500 cases for Classified growth
2500 to 3000 cases for the Second wine "Côte Migon La Gaffeliere"
