The charming 18th century Chateaux Kirwan is surrounded by flower gardens, a rose arbor and trees over 100 years old.
Chateau holds the position a the first of the Third Growths in the Classification of 1855.
In 1787 Thomas Jefferson, President of the United States, said after a journey in the Médoc:
"Chateau Kirwan is of a second quality after Chateau Margaux, Chateau Latour, Haut-Brion and Chateau Lafite
Chateau Kirwan wine varieties:
- 40% Cabernet Sauvignon
- 20% Cabernet Franc
- 30% Merlot
- 10% Petit Verdot
Vineyard area: 35 hectares
Average production: 16,000 cases for the "Grand Vin plus"
and 4,000 "Les Charmes de Kirwan" (introduced in 1993)

Wine tasting reservations
Wine tasting and sales together with visits to the chateau and cellars can be conducted in French,
English, German, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, and all Scandinavian languages.
Reception rooms are available for groups and "wine tasting by invitation" with dining: one for 20 to 120 people, and our private from 2 to 12 people.
